God’s Word is perfect; it truly revives the soul. The Lord is our Shepherd, and He cares for our souls. It is only through Him that we actually have spiritual life. Not only does He give us this life, but He continually renews our lives when we are feeling down or distressed.

So, does Jesus let us lie down or make us lie down? The answer is, “Yes!” He both lets us and makes us. Both translations work and both are correct depending on what is going on in our lives. Regardless of whether He lets you or makes you lie down, the nourishment is the same.

Too often we think that comfort will only come after the affliction is resolved. There is relief and great joy when God answers prayer and brings us out of affliction; however, there is also comfort in the midst of affliction. God is not only good when He delivers us, but He is also good in the midst of trials.
