New birth in Christ brings living hope. Our hope is not imaginary, dead, or wishful. Our hope is sure and it is alive because Jesus rose from the dead.

Paul remained focused on the gospel. He realized that physical imprisonment had no bearing or power over the gospel. Even though Paul found himself in chains, the Word of God is never bound.

We often try to free ourselves from the worries and troubles that seem to enslave us. The Lord is the only One who can truly free us from our distress.
